Newbie from the north

Post by Frombeertohere »

Hi everyone, been lurking around for the better part of a year now. Getting ready to take the plunge and start building so thought it was about time to get registered.

I am up in Canada where things can be expensive and hard to locate. I wanted to start making liquor years ago and seem to have taken the long way around, working my way up from wine kits, to all grain beer now its time to start distilling complete the trifecta.

I have been lurking and reading on and off for awhile now and am nearly decided on starting out with the recommended VM/LM combo in 3" (Learned early with beer to upsize and future proof to avoid wasting $$$ when you eventually realize your gear isn't big enough to match your appetite), I favor Rum and whiskey but everyone else wants vodka/neutral so this seemed the best route (I am still considering a pot still also) but I will leave that to another post.

Welcome to the forum.
good idea to decide what size you think you are going to want to get to & go there from the start.
I currently have a 15.5 gal keg for my boiler, wanting to upsize to 28gal.
