NewBee with a dream

Post by Iceyhot »

Greetings all!

I am very glad to have found this forum. I'll start by saying I am brand new fresh out of the gate looking to learn. All I have so far is a friend who said, "yeah dude you can put a still at my place" and a dream. A dream involving unaged whiskey. The one edge that I may have over some other newbees is a background in chemistry (although brewing and distilling seems to be more of an art then science). The safety measures stressed here warm my heart as someone who has seen their fair share of small explosions in ochem labs... I'm already conditioned to read until my eyes bleed from my chemistry courses, so thats gotta come in handy too. Oh and I know how to UTFSE. I'm basically already housebroken. I suppose the next step is to finish reading all the "READ THIS FIRST" posts before looking for equipment. Prosit!

The science will only help so much, better to learn the craft first then worry about the science at a later stage in my opinion.

Seems to me you should take to distilling like a duck to water.

I had to UTFSE to find out what UTFSE meant.
