Hello everyone! Very excited to be a part of this community! My name is Margie. I have been learning about home distilling for a couple years now.
My grandma has been in the practice for several decades. Her and my grandpa moved to the states from Croatia and brought the craft with them. My grandma has been handing down her knowledge to me and I have never been more excited about a hobby. I know that I will constantly be learning new things about distilling every day and can't wait to know more!
Through some research and google searches, Ive already read many threads within this forum and have taken away great advice and knowledge from you all. So, thank you for sharing your experiences within the community!
My boyfriend and I invested in a ten gallon copper pot still and have just done a single run on that one so far. It's been a learning experience from the copper pot still my grandpa made in the old country that I initially learned on. We have experimented mostly in brandies as my grandparents primarily distilled grape mash. We have a whole list of ideas to try!

Welcome to the forum, I have been to both Croatia and before their civil war Yugoslavia. I loved Dubrovnik and actually made a donation to the restoration of the walled city after the war. Good luck it is a great hobby!

Hey Margie, welcome to HD!

Glad to have you join the conversation, I'd be interested to hear how your grandmother's teaching align (or don't) with the knowledge here. Any classic recipes to share? :)

Re your 10 gallon pot, was the run mentioned your sacrificial? Else I'd suggest strongly pitching the results.

Have fun, play safe!
