Hello from South Africa

Post by Pikes123dub »

Hi. I have been brewing beer for a couple of years and decided to turn it up a notch. We are in hard lock down with no alcohol sales allowed so this is as good a time as any. I am busy building an all stainless pot still for whiskey and brandy using an urn as a boiler.

Hello and welcome. I've heard of boilers being made out of some odd things. Just make sure the urn is copper or stainless steel. Have fun and be safe.

welcome Pikes. just make certain you bypass the thermostat on the urn and get a SCR controller to regulate your boil tempo.

Thanks. I have a stc1000 temperature controller that I use for my fridge. I will use the hot function for the urn.
