Hi Guys/gals

Post by TheWhiteDragon »

Hey people,

I have been flavouring gins for many years using the berry's in the garden, and spending hours squishing the juice out after having it sit for 2- 4 months, but I just don't have the time to do that anymore...

Decided its time to start distilling it to refine it more.
Looking at the stills on aliexpress they all seem mostly the same, I know many say make your own, but I really don't have that much time.. so I think I'll just pickup a cheapy £50 job just to start to learn with.

Any advice greatly accepted, Hong to crawl though the noobs parts to see what others have done, but noticed one of the stores you guys were recommending went down hill fairly fast, so happy to see any suggested stores which are trusted.

Thanks for any help, and I promise to Google noob questions first lol 😆

Welcome.
You'll get better answers if you post in the appropriate forum.

Good luck on your search.

Yeah I did a I said, slapped the word Chinese in the forum search and had my eyes opened... just.... wow....

Basically, but one, strip it down, replace most of it and start again... lol...

As I said originally, I'm not going to have any time to make one, so I guess I'm just going to have to pay an arm and a leg to get one made or find one ready-made with all the right bits

I'm mostly doing gin, rectifying, so looking to redistil for personal use and gifts etc..

Do you guys know any reliable vendor's who don't have
e-shops on e-hills.. based in the uk ideally..

Anyone had any experience of dayuwz ?

I have found 1 post on here which makes me concerned as the guy is a micro brewery... where I'm just a noob at home..

Not sure where you are located?
But I would recommend giving a few vendors a ring or an email with some general questions about distilling, general care, customer support, warranty, etc.

Some way to gauge their commitment to the customer and also their knowledge about the actual equipment they are selling as well as the industry that they are attempting to be part of.....is what I would do.

This thread has turned into a "how about this one" not a welcome.
