New to the distilling world, have always wanted to do it and now is the time. I really enjoy a heavy plated smoky Scotch so any good tips are appreciated. Lots of reading to do here.

Try some Bairds heavily peated malt in your grain bill. Does wonders if you are looking for an Islay style scotch like Laphroaig
