Checking for starch

It was mentioned that you can check for starch by adding a couple drops of iodine to a sample teaspoon. If starch is present in the wort, the sample will turn blue or purple. (yep, I know it's poison and to throw the sample out.) The Iodine mentioned, is that regular ol Tincture of Iodine that you can pick up at any Walgreens? :?

Yep, same stuff used by grade schoolers in science projects to test for starch in potatos.
