Basically, I ran a Jimbo's 1/2 barrel with cornmeal and wheat/ Barley. It fermented out dry and I wrung it out with a mop bucket and paint strainer.
It hasn't settled out all the way but, by the looks of it it may not.... How cloudy can I run this all grain?
Can I run this?

Can I run this?

Re: Can I run this?
I would run it with the solids in the thumper and the clear juice and, if necessary, added water in the boiler.
Re: Can I run this?
I distill using propane. I frequently run a half and half clear beer and runny "pancake batter". Never had a problem but it is foamy so stripping runs are tricky.
Re: Can I run this?
I don't have a thumper so, that's out... I'm not sure that this is the consistency of pancake batter but, will know better after tonight. It will be cold and I hope it settles. I also have an electric burner so there's that.

Re: Can I run this?
I'm really hoping the clear will settle more. The entire container is a full run (10 Gallons) what's already clear is not nearly enough to run without adding 5 gallons of water....

That is another possibility.rgreen2002 wrote:Rack the liquid off the lees and get to stillin...

Before I had a thumper, I let the solids filter for a day or so, then collect the drained solids, water this with the same amount of water, stir thoroughly and sieve and filter again.
If the taste is what you want, you can use the drained solids to start a new ferment with sugar.
