Can I use this particular Agave for Mezcal?
Hi there, I'm interested in distilling Mezcal-like liquor. Near my house, I've this Agave plant (it should be Agave Americana), and I wanted to know if I can use it to produce it. It's almost 10 years old now and have never flourished. Thanks everyone for the answers!

Whether it's usable or not, I would strongly advise waiting until you're absolutely proficient at fermenting and distilling before sacrificing a 10-year old agave.

I’d use it. Any idea how much the heart might weigh?
Wanna sell it?

I'm searching for some other infos online, but I'm only confusing more than before. I've found that some agaves (apparently the Americana too) produce the aguamiel directly from the core of the plant, without even extracting it from the ground and cooking... I don't really know what to do now, eheheh.
