First ag. First reflux run

Many like to post about a first successful ferment (or first all grain mash), or first still built/bought or first good run of the still. Tell us about all of these great times here.

First ag. First reflux run

Well I got up early and ran my single malt in the pot for the spirit run. That’s first number one. Then I set up my reflux and am running the sac run through it now. The column is empty but I am adjusting the condensers. Keeping the top at 180f. It started off at 85% and is 78% now. I’m running electric on this so will play with the power and see what it does.

I also saved my sac run mason jars from the pot still as many say ‘you will need it again’. Great advice as it cleaning more copper right now.

My single malt tasters are very sweet and smooth. The alcohol bite comes later after you swirl it around a bit. I will bottle it with oak swirls and wait. I am exited to see how it turns out.
