Cleaning run

Many like to post about a first successful ferment (or first all grain mash), or first still built/bought or first good run of the still. Tell us about all of these great times here.
Pics are VERY welcome, we drool over pretty copper 8)

Cleaning run

Post by Jjones0120 »

Finally got it all together, did my vinegar and sacrificial runs. Played with vapor temps and tried some different things creating scenarios and learning to correct them. Pulled 7 jars, out of 3.5 gal of sugar turbo wash. I learned a good amount about how it all works and I can’t wait to do a real run next.

What do you plan for a first run? Nice pics although my neck got a bit stiff viewing them!

Welcome Jj!

You're off to great start and the sky's the limit as far as what you can create. As you move into your 'real run' you'll gain more and more control over your fermentables, processes and yeast.

Sorry bushman, every time I upload photos they turn sideways. As far as a first run I wanted to make a neutral spirit and flavor it. Still reading up on how to do all that.

My old cell phone would do that, but would turn the pics upside-down - even though they appeared correctly on my phone. Something squirrely about uploading from a phone to PC.

Great time of year for peach infusion if you're in the states.
Good judgement is the result of experience.

Experience is usually the result of bad judgement..
