My first braumeister still.

This is my still. 20 litre braumeister with 3mm stainles steel top with 2" and 1.5" ferrules welded on that. I have run two batches wit that. A sacrificial run and a turbo yeast sugar wash with reflux. So far so good. The gin basket I just bought and it is on there just to see if it is safe. It is quite top heavy. I use pump to circulate the chilling water. Water returning from the condenser will first go through a coil sitting in a bucket of water after which it returns to the actual chilling water reservoir. That way I have been able to keep the chilling water temp low and really steady. Banana for scale.

Do you have a separate power controller or are you using the Braumeister's temp controls ?

Using the braumeisters controls. I've noticed that finding the balance can be rather tricky.

Is the banana part of the gin basket?

It'll go in for my Pisang ambon clone.

Anything even a little top heavy needs support.

Indeed you will . Temperature controllers are not the right tool for distilling .... perfect for mashing though

You may find you need to do a modification to the bypass the electronics so you can run it off an external power controller

Guys with other temp controlled beer making boilers are having similar issues

Is that the girly drink with the little bamboo umbrella?

Sorry can't resist.

Getting there. Bypassing Braumeisters electronics is easy peasy. Next job is to ferment something.

And it works! Did couple runs with the pid side and no puking whatsoever. Next I'll try to turn that distillate to gin with pot mode.
