Spirits left in filter bucket for 6 weeks - is it safe?

Post by oops »

Hi all

Im only new at this - but i recently picked up a still spirits 'bucket in bucket' active carbon filter.

Ive just been away for 6 weeks (honeymoon) and with everything going on, i took off on holidays, completely forgetting that i had 5 litres of spirits (80% ish) sitting in the filter bucket.

As its not a sealed unit, i'm not sure if its still safe to use?
Can someone please advise cos id rather not throw it away if possible - but at the same time - im not really keen on a hospital visit.

Thanks in advance

What material is the filter bucket made of? I wouldn't want to drink alcohol that has been stored in plastic.

I wouldn't drink spirits made by running 160 proof through plastic - period... As far as drinking it after it's been soaking in that plastic for weeks, forget about it... Use it as weed killer or to start your charcoal grill...
