MM 2 and cracked corn

Post by Boda Getta »

My wife gifted me a MM 2 for Christmas and distilling season is here. I know the MM 2 will not handle whole corn but have been told it will do cracked corn. Looking for input on the best roller gap setting for Tractor Supply cracked corn. Any advice, tips or suggestions greatly appreciated.

I have a MM2 and have not used it on whole corn but have on cracked corn. What I do is run several times through, first at full open just to make sure it's not too much for the machine, then reduce it to the proper setting for the second run for consistency.

You will love that mill! I have been rockin one for about four years now with no issues. I have been milling cracked corn lately as well. I did spring for the hardened rollers when I bought mine just for longevity’s sake.

I think I originally set it at .040” or a touch under and have not checked or changed it in 4 years. Next time I am in the shop I will check the gap with a feeler gauge.

I checked the clearance and it is still right at .040 after a couple of thousand pounds of grain through it.
