Interested in speaking to people on the Art of Distilling

Putting older posts here. Going to try to keep the novice forum pruned about 90 days work. The 'good' old stuff is going to be put into appropriate forums.

I'll say it at the risk of being spanked.

Dez, if you had anything to do with that crockumentary, you ****.

No you don't. We have shown you the hobby distilling community and you want something else. See your quote below.

You want something that can be produced into an attention grabbing tv drama. There is no drama here. Just the real hobby distilling community.

Dez wrote:Either way, I really appreciate your comments and I wasn't trying to offend anyone here, so my apologies for that. I don't want to cause any further aggravation on the forum, so this will be my last message here.

All the best,

I certainly hope that none of you actually helped this bullshit happen. This is all we need right now while getting closer to legalization than we have ever been is some opportunist no-talent production trying to do nothing but grab attention, spreading horse shit like this. The worst part is now the next time someone shows up like this we are gonna run them out of town no matter who they are. Just as good anyway.

I had a feeling, I dropped hints. That lass made comments in this thread that showed the direction they looked to be taking things

"Underworld Inc." "Mayhem" Anyone here really surprised by this bullshit? Little different truth behind her intentions than "the Art of Distilling" eh, Duped used and abused. Merry fucking Christmas. More sensationalized media horseshit with bad guys wearing bandana's around their face. Fucking lovely.
In theory there's no difference between theory and practice. But in practice there is.

the people responsible for this production are nothing more than media puppets for the government propaganda machine. i'd be hanging my head in shame if my employer made me feed shit to people so i could pay my income taxes.

Well I knew something was funny after a pm or two and she didn't pm back after I explained the ins and outs of the hobby and how safe my and collectively our operations are. All she wanted to know about is lead antifreeze stills blowing up and selling.

There is someone that I've seen either on this forum, or one of the other ones, that appeared on this program. He alludes to making a living from his stilling. Did seem to know a few things though at least. Don't look like they covered hobby distilling really at all.

Looks like she has left her job at Wall to Wall. I guess that's worth something. Nothing compared to the damage they have done to the reputation of the independent distiller.

+1 !
I thought this too when I saw this thread start. Considering the varied and skilled members on these boards, we surely have someone with the skills necessary For a documentary!

i would love to do it it would be a good excuse to tour the world and meet the folks behind the handle. it would be nice to take the samples to get checked out against store bought and tastings with 'leading whiskey experts'.

geez was it something i said?

(no, i ain't that self important as to think anyone takes my blatherings as anything more than...blatherings. I am however feeling slightly remorseful for my last line ^^, i'd like to think corporate "made" her do it.)

Maybe Dez has torn a page from Lauren's book, told corporate to stuff it and now is living a wild lux lifestyle touring around and sampling fine grog worldwide...blockbuster movie to follow...

Well I finally got round to watching the whole thing, meh was what I expected complete with the usual red herrings. Blindness got a mention, straight out kill ya to death got a mention and of cause that ever present lead, almost dissapointed Jake leg was left off the menue. So I got to ask , where are all these good ole boys getting all this lead pipe. Must be at least 20 years since I even seen some in demolition, not only a best ed to work with but worth a fortune in scrap so why ain't these supposed "greedy shiners" selling it to buy much cheaper copper. bullshit with a heartbeat
