Throwing down a brandy wash....
any advice on distilling it? I'm hopeing for a good 15% wash, running it with a pot still. When/what should I cut? I normally only do rum, so this is a new thing for me!!
64oz white juice
64oz red juice
12lbs brn sugar
WL high-grav yeast
bit of nutrients and a bit of yeast engrzr
5gallon wash
or something like that

riff,
let your senses guide you.
1st distillation I would segregate some foreshots, and collect in multiple containers.
I would sniff and taste for determining what to do next..re-distill or otherwise.
Grape based stuff will probably produce more methanol than molassis wash.
I am currious as to how the WL high grave ale yeast does with a grape type wash.
I have @2 galons of homeade grapejuice(concord) and wonder how the (WLP025 ?) yeast will ferment the stuff.
I will probably use white sugar with my grape juice.
Let us know how the ferment goes.

The high grav yeast was tricky. I'm not used to the procedures(sp?) for using that style. Not only should I have thrown more in, I didn't use much yeast energizer. It pounded away for a week straight, then stopped, at ONLY 5%!!!! My SG was 1.110. I added some more k1v1116, nutrients and booster. We shall see in a week.
My next batch will be a plain sugar wash, and see what I can get out of a pot still.
