Any experience with Coloma Frozen Concentrates?

Post by opus345 »

I have recently discovered Coloma Concentrates https://colomafrozen.com/brewers-and-vintners and have ordered a quart of their Blackberry and Strawberry concentrates to use with some frozen fruit for a possible brandy run. Just wondering if anyone else has ordered and what their experience was?

It sounds like it would make a wonderful melomel (fruited mead).

Probably expensive for a distilled product, unless your aiming for a “panty dropper”.

I suppose you could make a nice wine out of it, but again, it seems expensive. Freshly pressed fruits saves processing and shipping costs, although you’d have more labor in it.

If you’ve got more dollars than sense, then go for it!

Thanks ss for the reply.

I've used Home Winery Supply Co concentrates in the past to boost my country wine products, but have become discouraged with HWSCO new ownership and product offerings.

Agree that I'm questioning the value for wine and especially for a distilled product.

If you have access ti fresh fruit, it is a no brainer, but wanted to see if anyone had ordered and see what they thought about Coloma's product.

I will update this thread with my experience.

Take care.
