Slivovitz essence

Postby Wasp_Box » Tue May 15, 2018 9:45 am

Has anyone tried this stuff?

https://prostill.co.uk/en_US/p/Essence-Beskid-Slivovitz-for-0%2C75L/295

I really like slivovitz. So I'm giving it a go.

Please let us know, I am very interested in "proper" essence but I think most of those are actually chemical compounds faking the real stuff.
Please let us know, even before actual use, the writing on the label, the ingredient list.
Does it says it contains "aroma", or "natural aroma", or "distilled condensate" or what?

Many sites boost, like this site, "100% natural" but then don't let you know what's in the ingredients list!

Looks like it's a chemical composition but we'll see what it tastes like in about a week.

Yes it's partially natural flavours and partially synthetic molecules which reproduce a chemical component of the aroma.

Certainly it is not "100% natural" as the shop claims.

Whatever the taste of the final result, I find this kind of commercial communication, by prostill.co.uk, dishonest.

For EU legislation, "nature-identical flavour" and "natural flavour" are different things.

When one writes "100% natural" in his shop window that means all the products he sells are "100% natural".

They should rather write "100% iffy".

Nothing to say as far as the producer is concerned, the essence producer labels the product correcly, and not by chance the seller does not show the ingredients list on his website.

I hope the result is good and the product is not "one-dimensional".

Prostill are a Polish company and the only 100% natural mention seems to be on their brand. I agree that this is technically dishonest but I doubt if any essences are not chemically enhanced.

I'll let you know what it tastes like.

Well, it's not too bad. It is a bit "one-dimensional" but drinkable. The last commercial bottle I had was better.

I'm not sure I would make it again - I would rather use my neutral to make Odin's gin!
