River Drive barrels?
Has anyone used a River Drive barrel? I ordered 2 5 gallon new oak #3 char barrels for some bourbon I'm about to make. Just wondering what they're like compared to the other brands like the Barrel Mill or Gibbs. They have to be better than the cheap ones that come with the wooden bungs sold all over Amazon

https://www.riverdrive.co/ It'll take you to Barrels Direct, shop for new barrels and they're the River Drive barrels.

Delivered today. Seems like they're decently well made. No unimpressed or blown away, just OK. They could have easily been damaged during delivery due to zero packing and basically 2 loose barrels in a box that was too big. I guess not too bad for $175 ea and free shipping.

Today I filled one after pouring in 2 gallons of hot water and standing on each end for 30mins. It never leaked a drop, so very well made.

Was the hot water and standing on ends recommended by the manufacturer ?

That's why I asked , My Cooper recommends that method and yes it does work very well.
Glad it worked for you.
Thought I might have posted it somewhere.
