Hi All
Hope everyone is well
i have been offered a small barrrel that has had sherry stored in it for last few years but now empty .
could i use this for aging and if so what would be the best stuff to fill it with , was thinking rum .
not sure if being used for sherry it will be any good for aging spirits
what you think ?
thanks

Right now, there are literally hundreds of millions of litres of Sherry cask maturing spirits that are quietly sitting on the same continent as you are...

It will be fine .....the first barrel aged Rum I ever did was in a x port Barrel .....it turned out great.
Have the Rum made and ready to put in the barrel before you drain the sherry.......you dont want the barrel to get dry and leak.
