I live close to a sweeteners distributor....

Sugar, and all about sugar washes. Where the primary ingredient is sugar, and other things are just used as nutrients.

I live close to a sweeteners distributor....

Post by RaymieDubbs »

So I just remembered that I live pretty close to this sweeteners distributor. Most sweeteners are available in a pail on up. Any suggestions on what I should pick up or maybe some interesting recipes I could try?

Yes, I can recommend you start here:

I like the all bran the best. But, choose one and follow the recipe “to the letter”. Later, after you’ve conquered the processes, including distillation and making cuts, then you can venture “off the map”. Learn what you need to first before going astray.

Thanks for the suggestions. I actually have Odin's Corn FLakes Whiskey fermenting right now. My new still has been cleaned and is ready. I was thinking more along the lines of what the go to fermentables were. Looks like just plain ol' white sugar in lots of recipes.

+1 with JB-texshine

With the molasses, make sure it is came molasses not sugar beet. Sugar beet molasses makes a nasty rum. Unless you like beet flavored liquor.

If the price is right I'd try the dextrose which is corn sugar. I've read it makes a smoother product compared to regular sugar.

You lucky dog. They have agave. You're one of the few of us lucky enought to have access to that. Tequila anyone?

Yes I saw that. Maybe after running a couple sugar washes and corn flakes whiskeys I will give it a shot.
