That is, unless I am wrong, Pintoshine.

Well shit! Not that the feds don't already have access to my credit card purchases but as an enzyme customer I'm now linked to a crook. Crap!

Nothing comes up on that link that says anything about an arrest or moonshine for me.

Damnedest thing is that the article is no longer on the site... Weird.
Let me search around a few other news sites.
Quick rundown though.
Caught with one pintoshine still, 1 ss mash barrel/fermenter 55 gallon, 1 55 gallon worm and flake, and a propane burner. They claim that capable of making 200 gallons a week.
Charges:
Possession with intent to sell
Possession of still
Possession of untaxed spirits

“Potential” to make 200 gallons per week - was he selling or just had the equipment to make it? There is the “ Don’t tell, don’t sell” mantra for a reason.

On his enzyme purchaser list too, was about to order more.

Hell I think that we are all customers...
According to the video that was on the original article I saw,it looked like a couple cases of jars full, and about a dozen gallon jugs... Didn't look like selling. Looked like a hobbyists collection of different things. 1 55 gallon fermenter ain't making 200 gallons of anything a week. 5_10 gallons maybe... That's pushing it though

What the hell! That really sucks, guys. But like most busts that one seems to have been accidental - incident to another investigation, "Lookit what we found!" :(
Don't sell, don't tell (an don't make no damned Utube videos, neither). Y'all be careful out there.

Well if the enzymes get hard to find because of this, I can recommend Brewhaus' powdered enzymes: https://brewhaus.com/# ..and search for "enzymes."
The Alpha hi-temp and Gluco room-temp combo work well, and I've always been pleased with the product & company. I'm only a satisfied customer and have no other affiliation.

"55 gallon worm and flake"
If that's a 55 gallon flake, I'll eat my friggen hat.
The garden hose makes a usefull reference for measureing the size.
I'd guess 20ish gallons for the flake ad 30ish usable gallons for the copper pot
I sure as hell wouldn't call that a BIG moonshine operation making upto 200 gallons a week.
If this goes to trial, I sure hope they pick me for a juror

Enzymes are not illegal and can be used for beer production. So doubt anything will ever come from buying those. Sure doesn't look like a LARGE moonshiner as stated in the article. They didn't even show a single jar of booze in the pictures.

I can't make 200 gal per week and I have 740 gal of fermentation and 120 gal still. They are just throwing out numbers to make the bust sound better.

Along with enzymes he was making controllers. He worked a booth at the ADI conference with Artisan Stills. Sorry to hear this!

I'll bet there are a lot of crafties out there that wish they could produce 200 gallons a week of finished spirit.

I fear the "other investigation" claim. The imagination runs wild with wonder.
Pintoshine seems like a decent guy from my minimal dealing with him on the Artisan site.

I would be happy with 200 gal per month.

200 gal a week  that's around 10,400 gal or 40,000 ltrs per annum. Who did they bust? Jim Beam I'll call bullshit on that in a heartbeat. Kinda reminds me of them busts back home where they quote a street value of some phenomenal figure and all the lads were all the time wondering where the hell this high payin street was

No sales or intent to sell on his part. 30 gallons ofixed heads and tails at 30% is what he had. The video wave 3 aired used stock footage from moonshiners mixed in with actual videos of his stuff.

Any (honest) lawyer worth his J.D. will explain how ludicrous the inflated numbers were, and with the help of an expert microdistiller witness paint a picture of the railroad job. If indeed there is no proof of any sales,(or intent) hopefully reduce the charges to a minimum, pay a fine and avoid a trial.
