Alt Whiskey

Post by Bushman »

Found this article in the ADI newsletter. For our members on Vancouver Island I think it might be worth a taste. Next time up I will look for a bottle.

Yes definitely worth trying.
Sounds tasty.

Crafts are turning out quality short aged small cask batches.
Gettn close to rapid aging.
Purists are taking a look.

Interesting article.. thanks

The article is about a whiskey made from 5 grains, 1 part barley, and 4 different wheat grains, so it is mainly a wheat whiskey..

What is not said, is if the grains were malted or not.. to much on my plate right now to experience with this one at the moment..

Many here use non-malt enzymes for starch conversion. I had thought it was illegal to do so for commercial distillers but while forbidden in Scotland it is not in the U.S. Don't know about anywhere else. And don't tell my wife that I was wrong again.
