i never saw this discused and do have a handle on it.
but for those who are new to stilling maybe mouthfeel could be discused
in a recent thread my hero socd described adding oats to his mash to improve mouthfeel.
so maybe we could get everyones opinion on the subject.
cause everyone likes a buttery whiskey :clap:
its better to think like a fool but keep your mouth shut,then to open ur mouth and have it confirmed

I use the five terms that define mouthfeel that is used with wine. Here is a link that describes them but I think others may have a different definition.

Everything I have is too new to judge probably, except Odin's whiskey has had a few months in the barrel.
It's more velvety than the whites I just got done making. Easy sipping.

Mouth feel to me is like the difference between hard and soft water, though there is more...

If you have a chance to slowly pour reverse osmosis (RO) water you will notice it behaves much differently than tap or even distilled water. RO water sort of clings to itself, guess you could say it has higher water tension. I cannot see how RO water can be that much different than distilled water in mouth feel but it is. The reason I am not sure but my guess is the ionization, because if you have reverse osmosis deionized filtered water (RODI) the water behaves like distilled.

I can see why people temper with RO water for better mouth feel, it's a great choice.

My 9-month-old oaked HBB tastes Balanced and Coordinated.
As if all the specialty grain puzzle pieces have arranged themselves into place.
