Rye Whiskey in Europe ?

Hii folks, I'm in UK and we can't get "Rye". Odin has "faked it" with rye bread or "Pumpernikel" I think we got it to.

SO I fancy doing a rye / corn whiskey, but I never tasted rye whiskey. Does anyone know if there's a commercial rye whiskey available over here, so I can see if I like it ?

Thanks for reading .

I think you did not look further / long enough.
Weyerman in Germany makes rye malt.

2 seconds search on GG: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Organic-Rye-Gr ... B007CX6NTU

ya gotta be able to get canadian club or crown royal over there. the shit is ubiquitous. it's a thin representation of rye grain spirit
but it will give you an idea.
if you can find "lot 40" that's a pretty decent rye, actually has flavour.

bullit rye is fairly nice.
but put the money towards some grain and you'll find you like it for less and you'll have a few bottles to boot.

I can recomend Bentsticks Oat/ wheat/ rye. it's a 1/3 of each grain and half of the what and rye is to be malted.
I did it but with all the rye malted, a very nice sipper in the white so much so I prefer it to my aged stock.

Hi Squint, You don't say much mate, but when you do - it's really worth listening to ! 8)

If any of our US peeps could have a look down the contents of your first link and tell us if one of those tastes like "the real stuff" - I'd be grateful. :)

tried: templeton, the cheap whistlepig (never tried the spendy ones), hudson (i think the manhattan one is blended as a cocktail)

heard good things about george dickel and copper fox but never tried them.

never had any luck with any of the bulliet, it's all heads to me.

have a good look for "lot 40" its worth it. http://www.klwines.com/p/i?i=1151223" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

for convenience, tesco have bulleit 95. think it's even on special offer right now. never drunk it myself though. like SP everytime i think i'd like to try an american whiskey for research purposes i invariably decide to buy a sack of corn instead..
rye malt is pretty widely available in the UK though, save the european shipping.
