My favorite drinks are situational, note I didn't say Cocktail, because Cocktails are a very specific family of 4 component mixed drink. Look that up.

Formal Setting:
Dirty Martini

Beach or Boat:
Rum Punch or Planters Punch
Pina Colada
Mohito (Muddled Mint & White Rum Martini)
Whole lime squeezed into a 12 oz glass of ice and fill with Jamaican style Dark Rum (dangerously good and strong)

In the country:
Gin and Tonic with Lime
Vodka and Tonic with Lemon

At home:
Cuba Libre (Rum and Coke with Lime)

Anytime on ice or neat:
Fire Whiskey preferably Jack Daniels (Cinnamon)
Johhny Walker any label

Winter time:
White Russian
Black Russian
Sambucca Neat (I have lots of elderberry growing around here, I should try and make some sumbucca next year when it's in flower)
Kaluha in pretty much anything

I am sure there are more, but those are my favorites.

Just got back this afternoon from the family beach trip. Thanks to all for the drink suggestions. The two best sellers for before dinner first drinks turned out to be the Transfusions for the guys and the Aperol Spritz for the girls. The OEG & Tonic was a close third.
ExPat’s blue gin was a hit:
Blue OEG and Tonic
Blue OEG and Tonic
NZChris’ blue ice cubes were also good. The older grandkids got lemonade with the blue cue cubes several times and loved it. I guess you may possibly have an alcohol problem when your 7 yr old grand daughter asks, “What’s your special cocktail tonight, Papa?” :wtf:

Thanks again for the input.

When the grand-kids were younger I used to make a point of getting non--alcoholic wine for them and serving it just the same as our wine.
They loved it.

Milk punch. Delicious!
