ABC law enforcers buy moonshine still on eBay, seize 2 others in Henry County
Ebay-shopping state liquor law enforcers bought a moonshine still and seized two others in Henry County, the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control said Thursday.
Daniel Scott Hokanson, 46, of Collinsville posted one of the stills for sale on the Internet auction site and ABC agents "conducted a controlled buy of the still," Chris Goodman, special agent in charge for the ABC, said in a statement. After buying the device, agents searched Hokanson's home and found two other stills, Goodman said.
Hokanson will be indicted on a misdemeanor charge of possessing a distilling apparatus, the ABC said.
"ABC agents routinely monitor the Internet as part of the investigations into illegal activities involving alcohol," Goodman said.
