New White House Petition to Legalize!

Ok, so I know we've all been down the legalization pipe before and been disappointed. But I saw this posted on Reddit and figured it can't hurt. Even if it goes nowhere, it still is one more thing that adds to the mainstream discussion and normalization of legalized hobby distilling. Please join me in signing. I also posted it on my YouTube community page and twitter. Don't leave me out there twisting in the breeze by my lonesome fellas.

I've signed this petition but it's really sad to hear how many people say they want legalization and yet no one will sign.out of 100,000 signatures needed there are only 277. And it's been up for 5 days.

The frustrating part is that most people don't even realize it's illegal. Back when I started writing my senators one of them told me to contact my state's liquor authority "because it's a state issue". REALLY? Isn't your job to know and make the laws, dude? I wrote back and politely explained again that in fact hobby distilling is illegal at the federal level, then restated my position to ask for their help. No response. Honestly I think they just toss my letters in the round file when they get them now. It's a tall hill to climb, but I'm willing to push ahead on every opportunity, even if I get my heart broken again.

Okay, so I'm probably already on more NSA lists than I have fingers and toes...BUT I don't know what lists I'm on.
Deliberately PUTTING my name on a list, that's going to the government...basically saying "Yoo Hoo over here! Could you please make the illegal shit I'm doing now, legal now... please, pretty please!" and if they say "NO!" then who gets our list of names...and e-mails, oh yes that's right the BATFE, with a "No Knock warrant" and the right to kick my front door down at 3 in the morning...and they'll be armed, because I'll bet I'm on "That List" too...
I know I sound "Chicken Shit" but I've breathed "sieved air" before, not something I'd care to repeat.

Understood brother. Not saying you're chicken shit at all. Fear is a good thing in this hobby. Just I don't think they will be conducting raids from names on a publicly available petition.

I take the adage "no tell, no sell" very seriously, having close family and friends in law enforcement (none of which know what I do) I am very familiar with the consequences. I also know that there is no limitations on what or how the law gets their information, especially when you volunteer it.

I do not TRULY trust them, that's why we need so many signatures that it's damn near impossible to pursue the names on that list.
