Get him to replace the worm with a liebig and you should be good to go. Or build it yourself. Way cheaper than you'd think (the whole thing).

Ok, thanks guys.
I bet it is, and I cant wait to move out of this apartment, get some tools and start messing around with builds.

for now, id just like to get a 15 or 20l pot still to upgrade the airstill.

I will try with other shops in the area.

My humble rig. Just need to buy and fit the quick release RC fittings and some hose then work out how to plumb this little puppy. I like to think 4X and buy and do once.

Many thanks to all the forum members that contributed on my threads and posts, enabling to get to this point.

I have a 50l keg that I can bolt this to but I think I will use the 50l for in pot mode for stripping runs and do my spirit runs through the 30l.

Should have cleaned the pot.

The portion under cooling is 600mm, 35mm water jacket over 22mm distillate tube.

RC is 250mm long.

it looks like a fixed RC, iif it is fixed you need a nice big hole in that cap. nice and shiny, now wrap it in newspaper and do some stilling.

Not fixed. When the cap is seated we are at 100% reflux. The coil will be lifted as we go. The main purpose of the cap it to stop dust and stuff going down the column while in storage.

Are you saying that in full reflux that there will be vapours that will need to be vented?

Wrap in newspaper?

a packed reflux column work best when insulated. you can use many things, cheapest in RSA is the local newspapers in bigger cities... mind covid killed most.

personaly i will still have a vent hole. i see a lot of guys in my neck of woods that do not get an open top reflux... if you do 100% reflux nothing will escape, but if you have a problem a vent hole can save you.

Here's my rig. Kegland pot still conversion kit on a 35L Digiboil. I added 2"x24" spool that's currently packed with 2 rolls of copper mesh. I pull about 1L/hr on a spirit run. Currently running an agave syrup/sugar wash & going for tequila.

I also have the reflux still which I was quite happy seeing it put out 95%.
