To heck with the still, what's under the blankets?
Fear and ridicule are the tactics of weak-minded cowards and tyrants who have no other leadership talent from which to draw in order to persuade.

I thought it was supposed to be teflon which is ok? I'm certainly not going to be replacing it with rigid copper.Yummyrum wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 5:44 amAgree with Archee
The hose is a bad thing . I made many runs with my first still . Couldn’t work out why the collection hose kept going all funny ….. then it dawned ….. I’m drinking the shit that is coming through it .
Switched it for a piece if copper pipe ….. had to wrap some teflon tape around the outlet so the coper pipe fitted on firmly .

Re: Just Post a Pick of your Rig
Is that a copper scrubber in the pipe from the boiler?
If so I hope you've removed it from the new thumper setup.
Know a lad who used a scrubby at the end of his condenser, got a blockage almost had a big accident.
Ripped the riser off the boiler.
Don't be a dick
Re: Just Post a Pick of your Rig
Okay, you got me, there’s no silicone hoses and I ditched the entire glass thumper with the copper scrubber, went direct drive kettle to worm and went pretty good. Going to run 3rd gen Saturday of my version of corn sour mash w/some rye. And it’s a 66 GTO so you guys get points for that !! Thanks. !
