Hi all, weekend never long enough but thought Id share some more progress to my build. Finished all column thermowells this evening.

I'll have 15 temperature sensor in total, 11 for the still, but 2 are for RC and shotgun water. 2 are for the boiler and will install them when it arrives but these will be the SS type and not custom. the the last 4 are for the 2 solid state relays and 2 SCR controllers.

More nice work Jason.

Just some food for thought. Those thermowells in the column will cause quite a delay in actual temp readings being reflected in the meters, especially with the air space in them. If you can fine a way to expose your sensors in the column to vapor, with a drip guard, you’ll be a whole lot happier with the results. Just my opinion.

The issue he will have with a drip shield is the plastic cable the probes are attached to, best to optimise the thermal transfer by wrapping the probes in copper gauze, the thermowells are copper, so, heat transfer is good, the air gap removal will help.

Cheers

That is a really awesome looking build mate
I like it a lot bar one easy to fix thing, there's 13 (i assume cheap chinese) electrical modules and numerous switches well within a couple of foot of your product outlet, perhaps an additional stand with some more distance would be safer?
