Dutch Oven Cobbler

Post by Coyote »

This is one I have done for years.

With briquettes top and bottom, or on the Propane BBQ
Wifey even has done this in the oven.

I do a lot of these in hunting camp shallow hole in the ground
and coals from the fire.

#12 dutch oven with lid
1 quart of canned peaches DO NOT DRAIN
2 cups of any other berry or fruit you desire
1 French Vanilla cake mix box

Dump the peaches and berries in the Dutch oven
Dump the cake mix over the fruit
Give it a quick light stir Your not making a batter just a quick stir.

On med (325) heat this will take about 45 minutes to an hour
Longer on coals or at 8,000 feet where we hunt! Just watch it close for done until
you figure out what works for your timing wise.

I have done this with just peaches, canned apples, rhubarb, pears/blueberries,
Cherry's, just about anything.

Enjoy
