Stout Sauce

Post by BioGuy »

Stout Sauce

12 oz Stout Beer
1-1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup honey

Mix all ingredients in saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and simmer until reduced by about half. Sauce will thicken quite a lot as it cools.

Store in refrigerator.

To use: Brush generously on burgers, steak or meat of your choice just before removing from grill. Stir a few tablespoons into a cup of BBQ sauce to liven it up or mix some into mayo or any kind of mustard to create a different sauce.

I generally make a triple batch of this to keep around...
Friar Tuck: "This is grain, which any fool can eat, but for which the Lord intended a more divine means of consumption. Let us give praise to our maker and glory to his bounty by learning about... BEER!"
