I grew up half an hour truck ride from the top of the continental divide, so it took me years to even recognize there was southern tradition. having said that grandma
made excellent cornbread so did mom my recipe is a revolving mix of many recipes that have included yellow,
and or white cornmeal, flour, white, or brown sugar, various salts, sweated minced jalapenos, walla wallas, or vadalias. canned
creamed corn or cut corn. various cheeses, and sometimes some other portion of the kitchen sink. I love me some
cornbread, unfortunately I can no longer eat it.
