Re: Gravity & Temperature Compensation Calculator
Good to know
I also built it into my spreadsheet tracker, if you want to see the calculations

Thanks. I like to play somedays and knowing how washes usually progress helps me estimate better.
I also suggest a set of alcohol meters calibrated to 20c, as that’s what correction tables have been released for, although I did another spreadsheet I should finish for that.

Re: Gravity & Temperature Compensation Calculator
Mine is calibrated at 60F, adding/subtracting 0.002 for every 12.4 degrees delta.
So, I do this:
Actual temp - 60 = Delta
Delta divided by 12.4 = correction factor
Correction factor times 0.002 = amount to add to initial reading
Example:
SG 1.004 @ 88.4F
88.4-60=28.4
28.4 divided by 12.4= 2.290
2.290*0.002= 0.00458
1.004+0.00458= 1.00858
Your temperature corrected SG is 1.009
Or you can just stick yer finger in it and taste it.

🎱 The struggle is real and this rabbit hole just got interesting.
