Hey Blanik
Havn't been on the forum long enough to say a lot but can add these observations.
Old heads can't be put on young shoulders, your insight into distilling is a valid and worthwhile asset to this community.
Grumpy old bastards are only grumpy cause of others not listening to the first reply to a post, or not reading.

Not making any booze for some months isn't a problem... you still retain the knowledge of years of distilling.
So from one Aussie to another.

Your contribution to this forum will be missed if you go.

If you still intend leaving.... give yourself some breathing space before making the final decision.
There is at least 2 pages of people on this forum that feel you are worth listening too
Me included.

I think you took that the wrong way there RD, it was meant as a compliment. It is always pleasing to read how you and Blanik keep people straight on here, I hate that he has decided to leave, but I only threw that out there to imply that more weight is gonna be on your shoulders, sorry if it sounded like I bashed you.

I got what you where saying Mud, I was just being a pain in the ass. You never need to worry about offending me, I dish it it out. :)

Now Blanik on the other hand is kinda scary, he's the kind of old fart that will scream at kids to get off his lawn when they're just trying to get the ball out of the bushes. Then he'll give the ball to his dog as the kids look on, laughing at the top of his lungs as he does it. Not the kinda of man you want to mess with.

Well I dont know you all that well but i seen a few of your posts since i been back. Seems like you have a lot to offer and who the hell is gonna fill in for you. Maybe you are tired of whipping newbies asses over stupid shit but there are a lot of new newbs, and there are a lot of respected people who appreciate how you do it. Hang around for a while maybe it is just time you took a new direction. One that is even more sarcastic and let some of the people that care about you really enjoy your wit. Whatever you do enjoy!

Bugger me!!! I've just been made to feel very humble. Thanks so much guys.

As I said earlier, I'm seeing the doc soon and if the chest pains aren't a serious problem I'll reconsider. I've been talking with admin folk and we've agreed that I'll take a break from being a mod for a few weeks or so and see how I feel. Thanks again for your wishes and support.

I wish you the best Blanik. All you have done here is good and if you need to take a break then do it. When a giver stops giving the receivers do grumble and it's the giver's right to say fukem and do whatever is best for you...specially with an 'ol-fart' license. :D You will be missed and that's not your problem. If your medical checks out then WELCOME BACK!

Blanikdog, I wish you all the best that life has for you. Like most here on HD, you were won of the safest stepping stones to land on when making the transition from novice to shiner. Your expertise, patience, wit and straight from the hip comments shine through in your posts, even if some of the recipients were a little testy...

Take care my friend. But should you find yourself with the same feelings of loss that we are experiencing, then come home...

Three cheers for the Blanikdog, HIP HIP...

I've decided to have a holiday from being a worker in here for a few weeks or so and just post and sorta hang around like a bad smell. I've arranged with admin to give me some compassionate leave. My doc muttered something about telling my detracters something about 'having intercourse with their nose'. :esurprised:

This surprised my because it seemed rather difficult, but he's the medical man. :? :? :?

Thanks again for all the support guys.

LW - put me down for #2.

Blanik - Nothing wrong with bein' a crotchity old man. Young guy at work once accused me once a bein' a "hateful old A**H***. Told the SOB I wasn't old. S***in' thing is we got more life and livin' in our little finger than they got in their whole body. I would gladly listen to the wisdom you have accumulated any day/any time! We need you more, not less.
