PNW is kicking your arse!

Post by Red Rim »

I have noticed a large increase in the number of new members from the PNW, almost more than the bourbon states, the eastern seaboard and worst of all, more than the Kiwi distillers(ouch). So I propose a little competition. Where is the greatest concentration of distillers?
Feel free to chime in and add other locations, but I propose these distinctions.

Pacific Northwest
Southwest States (including California)
New England
South of the Mason Dixon
Great lakes(or wherever the f*ck Jimbo claims to be from)
Europe
Asia
Kiwi (and I know you guys hate to be lumped together) Ozzy!

You guys can throw sticks at me for not including your location, but feel free to add yours, so where the heck are you from?
(I bet PNW wins!)

I thought about adding Missouri as a class all it's own, but, I would probably get my teeth kicked in by a Kiwi!

Jimbo is an english icelandic japanese man, for the record.

I think the Pacific Northwest inspires people to get into crazy and eccentric hobbies because it rains the majority of the year. That's why Portland and Seattle are also considered the caffeine capitals of America.

Interesting statistics.
http://www.currentresults.com/Weather-E ... ettest.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

Damn, that's a lot of rain, however, the average rainfall of Seattle is only like 36 inches and where I live it is 46 inches.

Makes me want to go brew up another batch and hide out from the rain.

Tater's Kahlua... It's like drinking a whole beer, and shot of espresso in 1.5 ounces.

I lived on the west side of this state for 23 of the 24 years of my life (Coastie). I miss the rain forest so bad it hurts... Hearing that the rain keeps the rest of this country indoors is a very bad joke to me. :wtf:

The right side of Oregon here

Good Golly we get 310 days of sunshine a year,
Average annual rain fall is 14 inches,
a week of 10 to 20 below zero and 20 days of 100 to 110.

Where is all the rain in the PNW surely not here.

Why 3 years ago a cowboy out near Burns in the high desert
of Oregon got hit by a rain drop and it took 6 buckets of
dust to revive him!!

Most beautiful Colorado. 300+ days of sunshine a year. I don't know how you all in the PNW can stand all that rain. I have fished a lot in that neck of the woods. Great fishing if you don't mind being as wet as the fish.
The writer Tom Robbins, a resident of the PNW says you can always tell a native to the region. Totally unfazed by the rain.

+1

Rain is just natures way of keeping weaker folks from over running the area, if you don't mind being wet there are a lot of rewards out here just waiting to be had.
The northwest has a lot of micro-climates, maybe only 36 inches of rain in Seattle but go 50 miles west and you can enjoy 140 inches of rain a year.
Walk through that area a few miles and camp on a glacier.
Then only 30 miles east of Seattle you can get feet of snow per year.
If you don't like the weather get in your car and drive 15 minutes and you can usually find different weather, maybe better or maybe not.
Keeps things interesting at least.
