Its wild to read that in the heat of Aug. Ah but Crow hails from lands where water takes a different approach toward the drain.

My son sent a pic of inches of snow in Montana in June. And snow returning there next month in Sept. Brrrr....

Flashback 1981 Easter Sunday Wildflecken Germany 12.000 ft in the Bavaria Alps six feet of snow in one day. Sat in my room drinking Kreuzberg Monastery beer brewed by monks since the 16 century they were on the next mountain top over but you had two drive twenty miles to get there. Army wouldn't let you ship kegs home so I bought a couple of cheap lamps wired the kegs up and sent them home as lamps. Also sent back a 1928 Mercedes I bought cheap to.

Got a foot of snow over night. Had to go out to the Greenhouse and brush it off so it didn’t collapse the roof.

Holy sh*t, I couldn't handle that.

I don't think we dipped below zero last night. Not bad for January.

It was 36F this morning when I woke up, nearly as cold as it will get here. I haven't seen it snow here in nearly 30 years. Mountains are white up top in the distance though and a cold rain is coming tomorrow, maybe the local hills will get a dusting. My fiancee's from Indiana and whenever snow comes up she just says 'I'll never live in that stuff again'.

That same foot of snow Bushman got the other day just hit me. A little over 12 inches dropped today here in Michigan.

Its about normal here, maybe a touch cooler than normal but you don't have to shovel heat...so there's that.

Beaches are shut anyways here on account of COVID19 being still in full swing down Melbourne and a few districts around here. That said new cases around here have dropped from close to 800 a day to mid 20s but the weather has been absolutely appalling all week and we have a few more days of it so between home schooling and icy winds cabin fever is ramping up here.

The Farmers Almanac just posted the long term winter forecast for 20/21 winter. East-north east USA, where I live...milder winter than last year (and last year was very mild) two to three storms with snow of 5 inches or less, several dustings, but mostly rain. This should be very good for the heating bill this year!

Mid September and it's +4 C tonight!

I got a 25 gal batch fermenting upstairs in the garage and its 58 degrees in my here. What the heck is going on? Hot tub feels nice but damn, it's normally not this cold for another 6-8 weeks.

It's La Niña now. (I found the summary below on the noaa website)

It's not helping our firefighters now and it's a bummer for skiers on the left coast this winter.

ENSO Alert System Status: La Niña Advisory
La Niña conditions are present.*
Equatorial sea surface temperatures (SSTs) are below average across the east-central and eastern Pacific Ocean.
The tropical atmospheric circulation is consistent with La Niña.
La Niña conditions are present and are likely to continue through the Northern Hemisphere winter (~75% chance).

It was -1C here this morning when I left for work with a real, hard frost. It's warmed up some now. Last we had our first snow that stuck around on Halloween, I don't think we'll last that long this year.

It's +1c today and that's way below normal, spent a few hours in the hot tub at 102f to warm up after running a 25gal batch of sugar wash.
