It's +1c today and that's way below normal, spent a few hours in the hot tub at 102f to warm up after running a 25gal batch of sugar wash.
I am glad my set up is electric and I can do my runs inside my outbuilding. I am not sure if the cause is the many fires we have had in the PNW but we have had huge storms more than usual causing power outages and damage due to wind damage and fallen trees.

Install a hot tub in the still room?Geoff
Oh, man, life’s good!
Y'all sure that will get hot enough for passive mashing?
Lol! Holy crap, the mind is racing now...if I do a 1200L mash...how do I get the corn out of the tub later......
I wonder if anybody makes a paint strainer for 200# of corn so I can do a "tea bag"...
Numerous 57L kegs, some propane, one 220v electric with stilldragon controller. Keggle for all-Grain, two pot still tops for whisky, a 3" reflux with deflag for vodka. Coming up, a 4" perf plate column. Life is short, make whisky and drag race!
Oh, and no, the 114L still is in the garage, the tub is behind the house overlooking the lake.

Damn cold. Wind finally stopped here and PSE finally got power back on. Ive got waist high snow drifts in my back yard, and about 18 inches of drifted snow in front of my truck in the drive way. Driving home from work at 11 last night was entertaining until I got out away from the knuckle heads. Hard to say how much snow we actually got the way the winds were blowing, but Im sure our winds were less severe than they were in Snoqualmie last night. I hear they took a thrashing up there. I only registered a couple of 40MPH gusts before the power went out last night, most of the wind was 15 to 25 with 30 to 35 mph gusts.

Yeah, I'm probably not more than an hour north of Bushman's place, but I had to shovel paths through the 10" we got yesterday. Snow sucks. I'm getting too old for that stuff.

I've just about had enough of this cycle of cold winters and hot summers.

We ended up with around 10” yesterday not sure if we got any overnight as it is still dark outside
Here south of you we got about the same. I don't think there was much overnight but it was sure a mess yesterday at work. Snow makes for a very long miserable day where I work so my wife made ham and bean soup for everyone which helps make things a little better.
Roads were total crap both ways even though they kind of plowed them. At one point I was going down a hill behind a bus and stepped on the brakes and only sped up in spite of anti lock brakes. Fortunately the buss didn't slow down either.
Funny thing Mrs Cranky insists I drive our Escape on snow days rather than my 4 wheel drive Jeep truck The truck is worth more money and she doesn't want to watch me rebuild a '59 Chevy truck, which is what I say I'm going to do if anything ever happens to this one.
The nice thing about living here is it will all be gone in a couple days so I don't have to shovel.
We got more snow today than we have had in quite a few years and if is much colder than normal too. We don't have water in the kitchen but I have not felt like crawling under the house with a blow dryer to thaw it out yet.

Lower radiator hose heaters are something like $40. I am going to put one on all my cars after this clears to ensure we don't get another winter that I will need it. [emoji16]
