Re: SAMMICH"S
I gotta go with bearriver. Good reuben with tons of sauerkraut. I prefer the Krakus brand kraut if I don't have any home made. And a good home made heavy rye bread.

Re: SAMMICH"S
My favorite is a BLT or reuben but this one here is easy and delicious. Peanut Butter, sliced bananas and honey. Do the honey first on both slices. After a couple minutes while youre making the rest the honey becomes almost candy like on there. Hard to describe but a great sammich.
In theory there's no difference between theory and practice. But in practice there is.

Best sandwich is about half a pound of smoked brisket on a bun with just a little sauce. Hard to find around here but in Texas and Oklahoma you can find good brisket everywhere. Found one place over by the airport that can make it right but one is all I need.

Re: SAMMICH"S
used to get outstanding smoked brisket in HEB in austin. Tx.
was surprised how good it was..
after we ate it..my wife would make a stew out of the left overs..
fantastic stew
HEB is a store chain in Texas,,like kroger or Albertsons
funny story.
I transfered from Colorado to texas..
i rented a house behind the land lords house...nice guy,,he was there when i arrived
he asked if i knew where to get grocery's,,,the bank...helpful info.
I told him..yes..I say the HEB store...he said the what? I said the heb
grocery store,,,couple miles that way...He started laughin.
He said..Thats not the HEB store...It's called H. E. B.

Re: SAMMICH"S
I know HEB, spent a summer in San Antonio and a bit of time in Fort Worth too. The HEB central market is the most awesome grocery store in the whole world!!! The one in SA had valet parking, 5 separate deli like counters, one for meat, one for cheese, one for gourmet meals another for Chinese, You could buy an entire wheel OR barrel of cheese there and any kind of vegetable or fruit you could imagine. It was absolutely incredible!
In Oklahoma BBQ was everywhere, every grocery store had a smoker in the parking lot and there was always a guy just inside the door selling BBQ. The absolutely best place I have ever had BBQ was a place in OKC called Leo's, If anybody reading this ever goes through OKC find Leo's BBQ on Lincoln Blvd and your favorite sandwich will be brisket too. I do have to say that I understand Leo passed away some time back but supposedly his son now runs the place and hasn't changed anything. If that's true be prepared to never be satisfied with any other BBQ ever again.

The place looks like a run down old bar and it isn't exactly in what could be called a good neighborhood but I think most of the best BBQ isn't in "good" neighborhoods.
