What did you give this year?

Post by pfshine »

This year being very tight I couldn't buy much anything. So I made presents this year. (I will be damned if Santa takes credit for it  ) For my wife I made a tea candle holder with some copper flowers on it. For my daughter (she's 4) I made a magic wand that lights up with an led. I will post pictures later I forgot to take them before I wrapped them up. What did you guys give your loved ones.

Got my boys an xbox one, which I may or may not have wanted for myself. Considering my guys are the top of their grades (6/7) academically, I figure they earned it. Future scholarship winners. Mom got them books. lol
Also got them their first pocket knives which the SOH doesn't know about, yet. I may be back in the doghouse. :D

I'm giving lots of booze, whiskey, brandys and Apple pie.

My wife got a new vacume cleaner, a new curling iron, a yeti cup, shoes, canary diamond ring, spending cash and diamond solitare earrings.

My cousins, sister, mom and aunts got gift cards to clothing stores like tj max.

All the men are getting booze.

My wife got me a bigger still boiler, paying for all the welding and a SS pipe, heating element and controller and welding for use on smaller still, grain and sugar, case of jugs, mash stirrer and Mosin bags, yeast and more jars and some clothes, dress boots and custom pics made on canvas of me
and the new baby together when she was born.

The pictures are my favorite!!

It's going to be one sweet new year! I hope you All have a great one!!!!

At thanksgiving the family is together. We always do a drawing for what we call Secret Santa. The gift must be hand made (or made by the parents) last year my grandson drew my name. I got a feet and hand print collage. He was only a year old so... This year I drew my grandson. I made him a large tote full of building blocks. It's all pretty boring but that's what we do. Other than that it's the usual Christmas carnage.

Gave myself a break from stilling. Well, actually I had to. I was down for almost 2 months with a herniated disk.
But seriously, my wife and I decided to not spend anything on each other and we instead donated to the Nazarene Fund. This fund has raised over 12 million to help relocate persecuted Christians from ISIS.

I got my wife an apron. No, really, I did.

It seems like the kind of thing I'd get smacked for, but the crazy woman asked for it.

My 7 year old has been begging for a ps4 for months, and I've convinced him that we're not getting one. Meanwhile it's wrapped up and hidden in the garage to be "found" after we open everything else...

I gave my wife something she has been asking for for years. I blocked off the overflow on the bath tub so she can get extra depth out of it (I know  ) AND I planed the bathroom door down so it doesn't drag any more and closes nice and easy  I also got her perfume and stuff  and I gave away 30 bottles of apple cider and 6 bottles of wine to people I work with.

Wifey got a new bathroom.

She wanted to just paint I knew it would take a bunch more to make
it right. $ 38 gallon of paint so far has cost 3,800. Broke something in my foot during
the build so it has slowed things to a crawl.

Started Thanksgiving weekend and maybe I'll get it done this coming weekend.

All new fixtures, a grand in new tile, new floor, new tub, cabinet yet to be built by
me, new sink, the works.

Damn good woman

Good lord. How big is your bathroom? And is the paint made with a gold/ambergris mix?

BrewFerm makes a *great* Kriek kit, maybe that would also help change her mind

It takes about a year to get to full taste, but it's totally worth it. I had a little left over (I ran out of bottles), so it's currently being "mothered" into an incredibly tasty vinegar.

So today is my 10th anniversary. I have been working on some more copper stuff for the old lady. I made 7 copper roses and 5 brass ones. I gave 2 copper ones to her for mothers day and then 5 copper and 5 brass for the anniversary for a total of a dozen.

I know it's well after Christmas but thought I would post em here anyways. I took a granite tile cut it to shape carved out the images, inlayed the copper brass and bronze and, added legs to the back from the off cuts. The fox is for my daughter and the tulip is for my wife. Man I really have to take better pictures.
