-Click on "members"
-If it is not sorted by date of joining, click one or two times on "joined".

Now if you add in the url ?start=999 the 1000th member will be on the top of the list.
http://homedistiller.org/forum/memberlist.php?start=999

If you want to find out your number, search yourself in the member list (sorted by "joined"). You will be somewhere at 27000 I think, so add ?start=27000. You will have to try a few numbers, I found you adding ?start=26150
That means the first member on the list is Nr. 26151. Now you have to count, you are Nr. 26180.

Nope... You are user number 56614... I'm member number 2876... Uncle Jesse is member number 2... Tater is member number 38... Hover over a members name and check the u=#### part of the URL that displays... Those sort numbers in the user list are based on the record count that the search and sort uses...

Edited to add:
As you can see, over the years we have deleted a lot of registrants for one reason or another... There truly is no way to guess who member 30,000 will be because they have already joined... I could post a list, however... Sorry to burst your bubbles... The counter you are relying on is based on physical records, not member numbers... You could essentially have multiple 30,000's if bogus member records are deleted...

Additional Edit:
Member 30,000 is kula998xqp and he joined Thu May 12, 2011 12:34 am and last visited on Wed Jun 15, 2011 4:36 am...

Notable Member Numbers

10,000 - The requested user does not exist.
20,000 - The requested user does not exist.
30,000 - kula998xqp
40,000 - bret
50,000 - Redneck1
60,000 - franklin777

Guess that pretty much kills this topic... :lolno:

Rad,
this thread is 2 months old now. And now you throw everything overboard!

But it's really surprising. Is it possible, 30000 members were banned? Or was a few times a "stocktacking" happening, all members never posted were deleted? While rebuilding the website or something?

I really would like to read a thread named "The story of homedistiller.org" with all major stories and changes. From Grandpa Jesse perhaps.

Sorry folks... Been following along since the topic was started, knowing we'd already surpassed the 30,000 registration mark... As I stated earlier, we could hit 30,000 active members several times as existing accounts are removed for various reasons... The database has been cleaned up a couple times in the past and all registrations don't get approved yet eat up a member number regardless...

It's fun to sit back and watch some of this off-topic stuff ramble on, and others, not so much... Unfortunately, it simply eats up database space and bandwidth...

Most of the folks that got banned as such are in read only so still members in the members list, sure some complete trolls were removed and a lot of them had multible accounts. I believe there was a purge yes ago of a lot of inactive accounts etc. This thread is about the approved members not about the multitude of bots and spam that signs up but it not approved
So 3 to go hmm the gf has been threatening to join

I remember the big raucous when we were nearing 10,000 members seemed like our guesses were months off but the pace we are adding new members is unbelievable. Hope we can handle the traffic of the most popular forum of it's kind in the world. Hard to believe that we still haven't broken the record in 2013 of most people online at the same time (817).

I sure would hope that my donation was not in vein. Truth be told I probably am on this site reading 1-2 hours a day and haven't had a question that Google search can't find the answer to.

Hopefully HB 2903 makes it past committee, and we will be able to use our real names soon.

Until then I hope you don't mind me lurkin about.
