Request for donations

Post by Uncle Jesse »

Folks,

You all know I don't like to ask for money, which is why I went for years without accepting any donations. Old Timers know that I turned down any financial help for many years here at HD. However, things are tight right now and donations have fallen off the last few months so if you find the site useful and could spare a few sheckles, we would greatly appreciate it.

As always, nobody has to donate and nobody will think any more or less of you if you do or don't. I cover all the costs and do almost all the site maintenance on the server side and that is not going to change. I do not allow ads and have turned down numerous offers to buy the site outright and that won't change either.

I do want to give credit to Husker who has made a lot of great changes to PHPBB, most notably anti-spam and anti-spambot changes, just so I don't sound like I am the only one who has done heavy lifting!

As I said, if you find the site useful and feel good about sharing a few dollars, we thank you in advance.

Done it before and will get SOH to help me help again this weekend . This is the only site I go to that my ad blocker app does not show me that it is blocking unsolicited ads . I've also found a home here that I share with a lot of folks . Won't be big , but it will help a small bit .

Thanks guys, it means a lot to me not only that you are willing to help financially, but more important that you find the site useful and see it as a good community of like minded folks. It makes a moonshiner proud!

Mine will be coming soon. Won't be much as i'm still a broke-ass middle age guy who went back to school, but any spare bit I can dig up i'll contribute. Thanks for keeping the site "REAL" and all your hard work UJ, as well as Husker and all the mods that keep us in line.

I would donate some more, but the donate button is broken. When it is fixed, you will get more sheckels from me. Thanks for all the good work.

I live on a fixed income . SOH is still working and advancing in position and income . Total role reversal from when we first got together . Our entire life together we have discussed where every dollar we accumulated needed to go before we spent it . She surprised me when I brought up donating again to this site .
