Whats your current fermentables inventory look like?
Due to the current global pandemic, the supermarkets and big box stores have a growing number of empty coolers and shelves, causing the wife and I to consider the realities of self-imposed food/meal rationing.
To that end, a shout out to all distillers to assess their current inventories of essential fermentables, (yeast and enzymes too) and to hopefully make up any shortfall to ensure un-interrupted 'stilling operations. For once, I am not caught with my pants down, and can breathe a sigh of relief for over-stocking, given these unfortunate circumstances. Currently, my grain situation is:
wheat berries -150lbs
rye berries - 50lbs
corn - 200lbs
2-row pale - 60lbs
home malt (rye, wheat) - 80lbs
oats (whole and rolled) - 60lbs
fine molasses - 2 gal

I've got about 75 pounds of corn, 20ish gallons of blackstrap, and just a hair over 150 pounds of white sugar stocked up. I would be happy to have more, however.

Just shy of 25 kilos of malt. 75 liters of questionable molasses.
20l of heavily peated low wines.
Half a kilo rye flour for paste.
Edit: 10 kilos of rice and some dried koji starter I bought a while ago.

Re: Whats your current fermentables inventory look like?
i have a kilo of redstar bread yeast , 30 pakets prime white wine yeast, 1 packet fine german lager yeast , 5 gallons of molasses . 1 oz a amalayse , 1 oz gluco amaylase ,
5 cans of tomato paste , not much white sugar,
the recipes writ down for bwtpw and my mixup rum wash..
good to go for the apocalypse but i think i need to plus up by ordering some seed , barley and corn , i got wheat ,buck wheat and millet.
what would be the 5 grains i need , Barley, corn, wheat, rye, rice ? whAT no buckwheat
with my minimal equipment , basic KSA you have provided i expect when the plums & pears come in aught to be able to recruit some collecters and helpers to work on the shares
i should go look at a survivalist forum , i bet they are way out of hand.
went to the piggly wiggly [ grocery store] for milk and bread, they had a 40 lb sack of deer corn . but no toilet paper . i am bemused about the shortage of TP
my work around for no TP [bumwipes] is old shirts and lye soap . recycleable buttwipes
remember . this is only a test .
i am starting to rave but am compelled to add that the First Solution for Protective Equipment on the introduction of War Gas 100 years ago during the Great War was cotton and gauze mask , instructions was to urinate on them then breathe through them. typical .. pee on it

50# sugar, ~60# cornmeal, 25# rye flour. I’m stacked pretty thin and not happy about it!

Re: Whats your current fermentables inventory look like?
Was going to put down a rum but my raw sugar has been commandeered until further notice so my choices are all molasses rum, and AG whiskey with the supplies I have. Normally I would be going hell for leather on the fruit by now but this was a shocking season for stone fruit and not a lot better for other fruit except for some late apple varieties.

Re: Whats your current fermentables inventory look like?
I've just done a panic buy and bought enough ingredients to make a couple of gallons of sparkling black current and apple hard cider to, hopefully, keep the ladies happy for a while
It should be ready to drink in about two weeks.
