We still just have minor congestion, no fevers, headache, did have sore throat but it's better.
Makes it harder to judge cuts, but the heads may sterilize your sore throat...
True! I took the advice at first but then after a while I was like "Where's me rum?"

It is interesting how it hits people differently. I came down with the sweet and sour sickness before the lockdown hit Michigan. A couple days after getting back from a business trip to Detroit BAM started feeling really crappy. I only had a very mild cough, but my main symptom was exhaustion (and a slight fever)

I mean extreme exhaustion. Like for a few days during the worst of it, it was hard to even move exhaustion. I really can't overstate that this was the most worn out I have felt in my life. Before the worst of it hit I went to the clinic and tested positive, but after about a week and a half was feeling better. Never developed any other symptoms other than the mild cough, exhaustion and mild fever. I isolated at home with my dog for a few weeks after the symptoms subsided.

For what it's worth I'm in my mid 30s, no other health issues, relatively fit.

Edit: my younger sister lives in Manhattan and she also came down with it. It messed her up good for about 3 weeks. She had a fairly high fever, bad cough, headaches, basically the works. It was really scary for a few days there. She was never hospitalized but it was close. Basically they would have if her blood oxygen was even slightly lower. She is fine now, but still feeling not 100% better.

Be well everyone!

Update, I saw the pulmonary specialist yesterday.
She is concerned about blood clots since I have a long history including a pulmonary embolism.
I'll be getting scans of my heart and lungs.
Apparently the Wuhan causes clotting in some patients and she wants to be sure I am ok.
I've gotten some good meds and I could tell a difference last night, I slept better than I have for a month.
Knock on wood maybe I'm coming around the bend here!

Hey I got approved to go back to work today!
Pretty easy first day back, sending electronic copies of all my paperwork to HR and waiting for approval and now a staff meeting that I am almost completely not up to speed with and then off in about an hour.
WooHoo!!!
The meds are really helping my pneumonia and bronchitis symptoms so I'm happy to be getting back into the land of the living.

I saw my pulmonary specialist again yesterday, cardiac scan looks good!
Had another chest X-ray, she's going to let me know how that looks.
I had a pulmonary embolism about 7 years ago, of course the damage is still there so she wants to see if there's anything else going on.
I'm off all the steroids and just have a rescue inhaler to keep with me, things are looking good.

Next I need to drop some of the weight I've gained through this mess, I have a week in SE Alaska coming up from 8/9 - 8/15 so if I drop 20(+) Lbs before that I'll feel much better getting up at 3am to go get the Salmon, Dungeoness crabs and Halibut.

Glad you continue to improve Nerdy.

Are you trying to fit into an old summer fishing dress? Loosing 20 pounds in 30 days sounds as dangerous as getting COVID. Take care of yourself my friend. Otis

Putting on the 20 in 30 days is the truly dangerous part, it's temporary "eating whatever I want because I can" weight. Truth be told it was 25 lbs, but I'm not going to push it.
Thanks Otis, I just never want to have to ask for a seat belt extender on the plane!!

I have an easy solution for that :D I know people who could easily hook you up with your very own seat belt extension so you wouldn't have to lose weight or as for one

Don't worry about being fat enough for seat belt extenders.
If the pilot asks you to move fore or aft to adjust the aircrafts balance.
Then you might want to lose some weight

Well the ugly shit caught up with me and I ain’t munched a damned bat for quite a while. So far the only symptom is a variable fever and I mean really variable. For 2 days, it wuz fine in the morning and near 102 at night. Next day never over the 98 range and today just tuchin’ 99. Damn I ain’t sat still in 50 years and I don’t know if I can keep this stuff up. A little reloading, some mashin’ maybe. Can’’t go out, don’t want to over exert. Goddamn nurses calling and textin’ asking me how I pee and if they can help me to find a doctor. Shit, I ain’t 90 nor 15.

I thought I got it couple weeks ago and was going to ride it out at home. Had fever, chills, weakness, but also gut pain. I called doc, and he reminded me that gut pain isn't a symptom and if that doesn't go away overnight I should head to ER. I did that the next morning as it got worse and felt ridiculous doing it, sure that I'd be sent home with gas. I ended up admitted for a week with diverticulitis and colon abscess and will be on IV antibiotics for three more weeks. If I hadn't gone I would have ended up with an emergency surgery and a colostomy bag, no fun at all.

Point is, take the symptoms seriously and go see someone if you don't feel right about something. There's other, sometimes serious, things that can go wrong than the 'rona.

MtR - had that before, damn painful stuff!!

Yonder, after a couple weeks I felt all better, then pneumonia hit.
Be cautious, hoping you sail through without lasting effects.

I've heard two stories in the news about immunity this week, one from UW saying out of a boat load of over a hundred fishermen who got sick with the virus the only one's on board who didn't get it had already had it previously. This is evidence of immunity.
The other from Business Insider saying even if antibodies don't form or go away a person develops T cells that kill the Wuhan after surviving it.
Immunity is good!

Also I traveled to Alaska for my fishing trip a week ago, I had all my paperwork ready. They looked at my doctor's note and passed me through.
It's a shit show, at least at the Ketchikan airport.
Looks like they hired a bunch of kids to screen people, right by the exit doors.
Anyone could just walk out and bypass the whole thing if they wanted, but it seemed most people complied.
My dad and brother stood in line then went out to the tents where they got another nasal swab test done and then they were free to go with the warning to limit their interactions with others until they got the results. So they went fishing...

I'd been looking back through this thread for the vitamin C and D advice, heh. Since the problem ended up being my guts I'm glad I didn't do that. 8)

Hope your fishing was good.
