Barb is home. We got home about 5 hours ago, and she is doing well. She told me it was time to tell all my "sour mash junkies" that she is home doing good. Thanks to everyone for the warm thoughts.

Now all we have to do is keep on recovering, and wait for the pathology report to arrive.

Think I am going across the street to the neighbors house, and get good'n baked tonight. I really need to unwind. This 14-16 hour a day nursing has really been a grueling ordeal. Barb has done all of the heavy work, but I am also pretty well spent (super spent actually).

Hang on in there, keep your chin up mate.
We were SOOOOO lucky to catch this as early as we did. We are still hoping that we are cured with just the surgery. This was caught when looking at another thing. She did not go in because the cancer had made itself apparent. That is a true blessing. Yes, going through this at all SUCKSSSSSSS, but we have so much better chance of being done and over with it, because it was caught so early. Her oncologist thinks it all popped up in the 3 to 6 months. I think she had an xray early last fall, and it showed nothing.

Well, we still have fingers crossed, but we know that we have this big initial hurdle handled.

Great news, husker. I hope I can say the same on 23 May. I go to the hospital on 22nd for their report on my treatment regime. They took bits for biopsy last visit.

I am prayin for you blanik.

For others in the forum, say a prayer for blanik. He goes in for surgery tomorrow, and starts on immunology/chemo stuff in short order after surgery.

He has a hard path ahead of him. I Pray for full and quick recovery, over this dread disease.

Prayers for both Barb and Blanik.
Dad's got esophogas cancer (again) and Mum's lungs went from fine to crap and requiring oxygen in about 9 months. No answers just scar tissue is ruining her lungs and they don't know why. Talked to Dad Friday night and he said his cancer is either staying the same or getting a bit smaller.

About the only positive thing I think is that God has a plan and whether we like it or not it will be done. Leave him in control.

Again prayers for all who suffer from this horrible disease.

Howdy Guys, I'm still with y'all and still wondering where this will all finish. They took more biopsies to establish whether the cancer has gone into the bladder muscle and if so they will want to remove my effing bladder. This does not appeal. Now I have to go back later this month for some sort of scan and more discussion on the removal of the offending organ, but it does seem that the cancer has been removed from the interior skin of said organ. I guess that's something.

The problem with this shitty disease is the 'not knowing what's next'. And having a GA every couple of months!!. My old man had the same and after his first and only GA he came out with full blown altziemers(sp?). This is the scariest part for me as my brain is a bit stuffed as it is. (I guess you all knew that.) :)

To make matters worse, the first post I see in here is from a noob about using plastics and how 'everyone' does it, just look at the supermarket products. Why can't these people accept that plastic MAY be a problem. Don't they understand that if it may be a problem health-wise it's reason enough to avoid it, and also avoid the possible problems thirty or more years down the effing track?? And it's not as though it's a problem using tried and true materials anyway. But I digress...

Thanks for all your prayers, they seem to be working so far. Now for a home made rum. Maybe four or five.

I'm back and have a 50% chance of five years and 1% chance of nasty side effects. That'll do me fine. 75 is what I have always wanted. :)) Treatment starts in two weeks.

Well, it has come. Spent the afternoon out with Barb shopping, then came home, and shaved her head.

We ended up getting a wig, and 4 or 5 scarves, and a couple caps.

Right now, she is putting on a 'show' showing off her new styles in headwear.
