Old speargun + block of oak + a drill =
I cleaned out underneath the stairs today and found an old speargun from my younger days.
Wow. stainless steel tube. Out with the hacksaw and took a piece about 30 cm out. Cleaned it up on the grinding wheel and polished it on the wire wheel. One clean tube.
Had a couple of pieces of oak blocks left from my trip to the cooperage. Got out my wood drilling bit and made a nice hole that the tube fits rather snugly into. Jammed the tube in.
And this is what I ended up with. Never had one before. Now I have.
Works like a trooper and the price was right.

Scarecrow, You should have modified that thing to convert, then re-convert.
You could have had the best of both worlds.
You could have been the king of two domains.
Could have been a Maxwell Smart ah-la James Bond kind of appliance.
Likker Dicks would have been like,,,,,,,,,,,,,nothin here.
Trample the injured and hurdle the dead.

Might be a nice use for the spear out of an old keg you pick up for a boiler or BOP.

They hear the merc in full cry and just faint from shear panic.
They float to the surface and I just scoop 'em up and throw 'em on ice.

HA!!!! Sure you're not fishing with dynamite? Not exactly sporting Still you could be fishing with music. I hear the fish will jump into your boat themselves if you play it loud enough, just to escape the noise. Sorry Barry, just jokingscarecrow wrote:
