Carbon Filter
Short post, other than cost can i make my carbon filter from copper pipe rather than SS which all the commercial designs seem to be from. Copper is about my Tech level, SS is ...Not
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes!

personally id not let my finished spirits sit on/in copper.

To me it would make no sense that copper would have any adverse effects on it since pretty much everyone uses copper stills, which are exposed to high temperature, highly concentrated alcohols as where a carbon filter column only deals with room temperature, medium concentration alcohols.
I think the only reason store-bought carbon-filter columns are made from S/S is because they don't corrode or anything, so as long as you look after it by rinsing it out thoroughly after filtrations, there shouldn't be a problem using copper.
