Brutal remembers Butch. Someone is going to perfect this approach one day. Looking forward to that innovation.

This is high on my list. Soon enough I'll be tackling a way to separate liquid from my mash tun. Last time I posted anything the thread was closed due to size though. I've been using my boiler/mash tun for beer and barely based whiskeys with success. I'm considering fabricating a basket perhaps with a tubular frame, expanded metal as structure support lined with a SS mesh similar to a BIAB. It'll need a bushing at the bottom of the mash tun and ring atop of the basket to retain the mash as it spins. I tend to work at my own pace on this build but at the same time I'm out of bourbon so time will tell.

Well that experiment was a total fail, might be OK for crushing apples next year.

I've been thing about making a small dewatering screwpress using something like this http://www.webstaurantstore.com/avantco ... fgodrbIMhg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow - lot of work but might be worth it.

I've been kicking around for a couple of years the idea of an old washing machine (all I need to the spin cycle) and line the basket with screen wire. Do a good disinfectant or two and go at it. Only thing stopping me is I don't have the space.
