Like a lot of people, I bought a kettle screen like the one below in the hope that it would help in straining my AG mashes. It didn't help ... so it languished unused for years.
Then it occurred to me that it would be a perfect container for crushed oyster shells in my ferments. Sure enough, it holds several handfuls of shells and is easily stoppered with a cork (or, obviously, a threaded cap).
